Posted by hcmc, 03-21-2011, 01:46 PM I noticed that some companies (e.g. Adhost, Server Intellect) that offer cloud servers of various sorts offer a range of sizes, usually with a ratio of one cpu to 1 GB RAM. That seems odd since in typical dedicated servers, the ratio is more like 1:4. Is there something about cloud setups that calls for a 1:1 ratio? Amazon EC2 seems to have 2 to 4 GB per "compute unit," more like a typical physical server you would own.
