TurnKey Hosting

Okay thought I would share my experience so far. I just signed up with them. This is supposed to be the most uneventful part of the whole process. Sad to say this is anything but the way it is going. Of all the hosts that I have signed up with in my life this is the only one that told me I would get my information on the account in hours. I checked they did get their funds post haste from my bank. Their excuse with the online chat operator was that they needed to verify the account through billing to prevent fraud but hey they just took my money so the CC has been vetted. That is bad enough but then the operator informs me that this is how all real companies do it. That is a lie right there one I don't appreciate. I have had accounts with MDDHost and HostGator and several others and never had a problem signing up. IF things don't go sunny side up quick I see a short life to doing business with these people. Just with the signup and the operator I would be gun shy to recommend them. But hey things might change they might fix things correct the mistake and maybe even reprimand the operator. Who knows. If it was HostGator I know that is what they have done in the past.

Okay they got the information to me around 3:30pm EST. I did sign up around 12:30PM EST. Normally with any host I would be fully setup and hosting files by now. But after I received the information and logged in and began the process there seems to be a glitch as it wont setup correctly. I tried calling the number they list on the site but it seems to be a answering service and I never got a call back and that was around 7PM as I recall. I submitted a reply to a ticket but still no reply again I think that was no less than 30 minutes ago. So this is not going trouble free at all.

Could you provide the actual link to the company? There are three different turnkey hosting providers. Are you planning on getting a refund or are you going to stay to see how they handle the situation?

http://www.turnkeyinternet.net/ is their site. I just did a online chat with one of their people. I tell you when you talk to them they could melt butter they are so nice. That fellow is working on the issue right now I will keep you up to date on this current event. I love to give proper notice to a great company that is good to be with but I also like to let people know when things go bump in the night. Call it fair and equal reporting.

Many companies do manual fraud checks, especially if the customer is coming from a high risk provider. Yes, even the big companies do it at times. Overall, I would give them a chance and see if they can work it out for you. Let us know how it goes!

This one rep from the company worked on it for a while till he got things ironed out and so no the backup is restored and seems that it was a issue with CPanel/WHM. I personally think they are still working out the kinks in their system. They only started reseller hosting recently. I think per my research it was back in August of this year. They sent me a signup email that looks nice but the information was technically correct but wrong. Their IP in the emails is correct but the underlying tag was not. So if you click it does not send you where the IP your looking at is supposed to go. Not a problem actually as you can just copy paste rather than just click. I will try to help them improve by letting them know. So far this is going great just a little hair raising but great. Now I am paying less than I have been and I have more features and that is always freaking awesome. Now not only could I sell webhosting like before but I can also enlist resellers to help fill the space :-)

I was so excited thought I had everything ready after seeing that Roy had been able to restore from the current host backups. Then when I tried to do it myself and restore another backup file again I hit a brick wall with nothing happening. I could see the file and add it to the queue but it would not restore the domains to the server. And I can tell you they have yet to ever call me ever from any call I placed to their number. So it is nice they have a phone number and someone takes your information but as of yet I have never gotten a return call. Roy was able to get the backup restored somehow so I am now going to inspect things about see about getting the ball rolling setting everything up. If this proves to be a problem once again I am calling it a wrap and moving on.

Just a note I am still working with TurnKeyInternet to get my sites up. I have exchanged dozens of emails trying to get things finalized but still not complete yet. I always get a response and they are always nice and friendly. I have never had to switch hosts much so I can't say that I have loads of experience with lots of hosting companies. But the few I have had never took this long ever to get my sites migrated and setup.

Once your initial problems get sorted out, you'll find that they offer excellent reseller hosting services with little or no downtime. I've been with them since February 2010 and my clients and I couldn't be happier. Their Technical Support Manager certainly knows his stuff and any problems that I've had hasn't taken very long to sort out.

I think the problem with the account creation is the fraud checking procedure, which would be time consuming, once the fraud checking is over, I think, accounts will be created instantly. As they are working on the issue, I suggest you to be patient and work with them to sort this thing out. I don't think you would have any problem with them as they are willing to work with you and are giving you proper reply about the progress. Be patient and give them some time to sort this thing for you.

IHubNet-Matt I actually was rooting for them I liked their package and I liked being in contact with Roy and Sean and Adam I actually like them all and the company and it saddened me that after a week I had to cancel the account since I could never get the SSL certificate installed for the domain. I had a package with The Prime Host as well and they were able to get the server setup and working sooner than TurnKey and after working with TurnKey for so long on the issue I finally decided that I had to pull the plug and just go with The Prime Host instead. Like you said I knew that if they ever got the SSL working that would be it and I would have been fully setup and ready to serve and make more money. The fact I gave them a full week is a testament on how much I really wanted to do business with them. I would have never given anyone else that much time. The only reason I did give them that long is they had personalized support responses I was not dealing with TurnKey the company but the energetic staff Roy, Sean and Adam. On this whole issue I am conflicted as I did like TurnKey hosting I didn't like the fact that every time I called their phone support I got what seemed like an answering service and never to this day got a call from anyone about the calls I did make. So call all you like but don't expect a call back. Now with The Prime Host you can call them and talk to a real live human wit their company. MAJOR selling point. They offer more space and bandwidth at The Prime Host as well which worries me that I might be buying into some serious overselling but hey if they can deliver everything they promise with excellent quality then more power to them they got my business for the long haul. So to recap I am not a former disgruntled customer but a sad customer that things didn't work out and feel bad that we exchanged so many emails and that I took so much of their time before calling it quits. I should have made the determination that they would not get it working and move on sooner so that I didn't pester them. Hey maybe they will work out the kinks in the system and be there for me in the future if I ever need a new host. I am hoping to never need a new host but you never know when something is going to go wrong with the one you have.

Just another note to everyone I just checked with my bank and the company TurnKey Internet Services did refund my money promptly in full with no fuss at all. So I hope this helps everyone that is in the same position of finding a host.

Their strategy to atract customers is amazing, but they haven't a strategy to keep them... I have choosen a refund for its slow response to the tickets as well because they are unable to allow Remote MySQL connections (they not mention it in their policies), although many companies (such as EZPZ) allow it today. It should be noted that I preferred a refund of $25 (it was for the plan contract) over the $100 gift card they hand me over if I had stayed for 2 months, that give you an idea of my disgust accumulated by other factors also...

Could you two post your average ticket reply speeds? Either this post has bad luck or one of you is easily pleased and the other isnt.

One of my tickets took 8 hours and fraction to get response, and their announcements state "24 x 7 system administration support". Average: 4 hours.
