is something wrong with my nameservers?

Posted by raine, 05-17-2007, 02:27 AM
Hey folks, I've been told by a few people that something's wrong with my nameservers. But I'm not sure what it is that's wrong. the site => www.visualpoetry.ca the DNSs: ns1.visualpoetry.ca / ns2.visualpoetry.ca a zone check says: I'm not sure how to interpret this. Thanks for your help

http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsre...isualpoetry.ca for me provides a bit easier to read but basically.. The DNS at the registrar says ns1.visualpoetry.ca / ns2.visualpoetry.ca The file on the server says ns1 and ns2.wablue.info. If you change the zone file entries to match the registrar you should be all good

Hi, Also make sure you have an NS record in visualpoetry.ca's zone file for your primary name server. Good luck!

Autonomous System consists of routers, run by one or more operators, that present a consistent view of routing to the external world. (Routers under a common administration). The Internet Network Information Center (InterNIC) assigns a unique autonomous system to enterprises. The warning shows that your nameservers should be in a different AS in order to avoid any routing issues. But you can safely ignore that.

Actually, Autonomous System numbers are allocated by IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) to the various regional registries (AfriNIC, APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC, RIPE-NCC) who in turn assign AS numbers to organizations.

interesting... when i tried to change my nameservers at Enom, I got this error: ns1.visualpoetry.ca is an invalid nameserver for .com ns2.visualpoetry.ca is an invalid nameserver for .com we can't use .ca as nameservers for .com domains?

You can, but you have to create the nameserver objects in the registry first. Your registrar should be able to do that for you.

Yeah, contact their support to show you where in the control panel can you register your nameservers.
