Hi guys, For some reason, my server - wc suddenly does not work. I tried googling, but nobody else had the problem. Nothing else is wrong with the server except this. root@gold [~]# wc wc: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by wc) Thanks in advance, Otto

These could happen due to variety of reasons i) If it is redhat, Probably wc package was upgraded / downgraded. wc appears to be part of coreutils You might need to install correct coreutils if this is case . Check if other tools like du, sed , tail are working or not ii) The glibc package was modified which case you might need help from NOC to recover since most of the commands will fail iii) libc.so is usually installed in /lib The location "/lib/tls/libc.so.6" is different. May be that you installed some wrong packages in the server. Post your server details , distribution and all
