How is HostNine reseller hosting? Anyone using them?

Posted by AudiA4Turbo, 04-11-2012, 12:15 PM
I am looking for a new host and came across these guys. Though it was cool they have a cloud option so no more reliance on hardware. Wondering how reliable they are, saw some old reviews on here but nothing very recent. Anyone have any suggestions for another company to compare against them? I am just looking to host my websites and I have a handful of clients sites I host as well. Reliability, up-time and support are my biggest concern.

Hostdime is a pretty well known data center. I have been using a couple of dedicated servers with them. Servers have been performing quite well, so I assume the quality of their reseller hosting would be the same. Besides, its always good to have the techs physically present at the DC to look into your issues.

Thanks for the reply but I was referring to Host Nine, not dime. They are owned by asmallorange.com hosting and the reseller site is hostnine.com

Oh Man! I am sorry about that. Its just that I am too used to see Hostdime around

I didnt realize HostNine offered a cloud package. What package were you looking at? Their Reseller packages pretty much have no competition as far as the flexibility goes.

Ah yeah, thats not "cloud" hosting. However, the H9 reseller program is fairly unique Their reseller panel lets you host your websites on a variety of geographically separate locations based on your need.

yeah but it looks like they have an option for cloud hosting per domain so i could offer that to my clients.

Reviews here at WHT for H9 are bad.. if you could go through few. From my personal experience, they were quite reluctant to accept any downtime issues. Just say "Everything looks fine at our end". Frequent downtime was major problem without good support hence i had to leave them! I m not sure about them now.

What sort of budget do you have? Any other specific requirements? Perhaps we can recommend a few other providers for you to take a look at

Well I really am not too concerned with price, just something that is competitive with other hosts out there. I just need a small re-seller account so I was thinking around $15-$25 a month. Low to no downtime Good support 24/7 chat, email, and maybe phone Reliable servers with services like mysql and apache that don't restart in the middle of the day. I am currently using justhost and they reboot services during the middle of the day all the time and I am sick of it. I almost feel like I should get a dedicated server but I don't need that much space and don't want to spend the $100+ it prices.

Checkout HostDime.. they have excellent support - more importantly Chat Support is excellent. We have our dedicated server there. I strongly recommend them..

Do you think Resellers really use this feature ? Like if I am using a Reseller Hosting package in the US; do you think I will get a lot of customers say from the UK or Thailand etc ? I dont think there is a huge market for this ... or is it just me ?
