Current CPU ussage?

Is this some thing I should worry about? http://noc.crucialwebhost.com/graphs...aph_1105_1.png Thats the server I am on and the CPU Graph. Since Sunday the CPU has been really high. Sunday was the worst though as my site was unavailable by some members and slow by others. I did open a support ticket and was told some one was doing a back up and after it was done things would go back to normal. Well Monday though today the site was fine and running fast again but the cpu is still pretty high. That is what it says on the bottom of my forum. I am not sure if I should contact them again or just let it go since the site is loading fine. Last edited by Amy-T; 11-21-2007 at 02:14 PM. Reason: Upaded the server metter

It depends. What are the specs on the machine?

Does that help? Last edited by Amy-T; 11-21-2007 at 04:19 PM.

Seems to be an octal core, so a load of 8 isn't that bad. More it might be a concern thing, but not too much.

ya 8 cpu's or 4 Dual core cpu's.

2 Proc quad core I assume for the processors speed.

yay its back down to where it was before Sunday.

I've been on a server before with consistent loads in the high teens, often spiking into the 20.00s and 30.00s, sometimes reaching 60.00 and my pages still loaded pretty well, with only occasional and slight slow downs. I was offered a server move and took it though, so that I could be sure that there would be room for my sites to grow too. It proved to me that a server can dish out far more than the average anti overseller evangelist would propose though.

Oh the CPU load Sunday got to 80s and 90s and thats when it went slow and some members on my site told me the next day they could not get on at all Sunday.

Maybe someone was getting a digg or something. Last night I was reading through some of Crucial's older posts, evaluating them for myself and found one (in a thread called something like "most bandwidth used" or something like that) and he claimed that none of his servers ever get more of a load than .50 on them.

ah well that could have been true back when that was posted. I know when I first signed up the load was really low and I even saw it at 0.01 a few times. Its back down to .60 right now.

Not long ago... it was June of this year. It was a claim with cockiness though, is why it strikes me as a little amusing to see what you're experiencing to the contrary.

oh I have only been with them for a month. I infact just made my next months payment today. I am paying monthly.
