mod_layout - duplicating content

| The page content is duplicated (displayed twice) when I try to use mod_layout.
Has anyone found a solution to this issue?
Is there an alternative to mod_layout?
Mod_layout version: 5.1
Apache version: 2.2
PHP version: 5

| I don't use mod_layout much, but is it possible that you're either declaring the mod_layout directives twice, or using a page that makes two separate requests (using iframes, etc.)?
