repquota: abnormal CPU usage
Posted by vickydepp, 04-07-2008, 02:37 PM |
Hello,
I have a really strange problem on one of my servers. WHM shows load to be 175 (!!).
This is what I get from 'top' records:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
28454 root 18 0 2012 728 604 R 101 0.0 115:58.01 repquota
Anyone knows how to solve that problem?
Thank you,
Vicky

I've seen this before, it's usually related to a corrupted quota.user and quota.group file. Just a quick question, are you running cPanel?

Pat, he has said WHM, so cpanel
seems /scripts/fixquotas should fix it.

Oops, wasn't paying attention!
If /scripts/fixquotas doesn't work, you will have to remove the quota files then rerun the script. The files to remove are:
/home/quota.user
/home/quota.group
or
/home/quota.usr
/home/quota.grp
I forget what the exact quota file names are on a Linux server, perhaps someone else can confirm...

The filename should be /home/aquota.user
