What dedicated host is for me?

Hi, I want to get into web hosting. I need a dedicated server but I don't want to go with Alabanza because I think that they are way to expensive (I don't need their control panel). I want a reliable and good host but without a control panel because I will code one myself. I think that this way I will save a lot of money in the start because I would not need to pay for using an already made control panel. I have enough knowledge in unix to be able to get my way around the server. So basically I'm looking for a reliable, fast host without anything fancy stuff because I'll code most of it. Are there any such hosts around?

I've never used any of the following but I'm sure most will agree that they are good. http://www.netinfra.com/ http://www.dialtoneinternet.com/ http://www.digitalnation.com/ http://www.skynetweb.com/ http://www.vdi.net/ Good Luck!
