Reselling or Leasing - What's better and why?

I have setup a few RH boxes here at home with WEBppliance and was wondering what ya'll though about reselling versus maintaining your own box at a place like Rackshack. What do you think would be best for me. I already have a few clients lined up and I think I could get the ball rolling on my own without becoming a reseller. Any input as to the bnefits and disadvatages to each???

Do you know how to fix any problems that occur with the box? Do you have the money to fund a project that will cost big bucks the first few months?

I'm also sure you have an OC3 on the backbone, too. Right?

Try reading his post: Neither of those could be done from home now could they I'd ask you these questions John: -How long will it take you to have enough clients to pay for the dedicated box, plus monitoring, plus support staff for when you're not available? -Also, will you be relying on this as your sole method of supporting yourself? Personally, I'd go with reselling to start. Play with your test boxes at home to your hearts content and learn everything you can. Then, when you've got quite a few customers look at a dedicated server. By then you'll have a revenue stream coming in, more experience and should be showing a profit from day one. --Josh

If you already know how to install red hat as well as install ensim, I'd say forget reselling and get a dedicated server. Seems like you know enough to get your feet wet. You might also want to consider colocating a server if you can. Just my 2 cents!
