sysmond error
Posted by Hostwaresupport, 09-02-2009, 02:05 PM |
Hello Guys,
I have installed sysmond script on one of my openvz node for monitoring. But, when I checked it in browser, it is showing all things as not available. So, I checked status of sysmond deamon on server and I got following error.
[root@]# /etc/init.d/sysmond status
sysmond dead but subsys locked
[root@]#
I tried all solution, but could not fix this error. Does anyone have solution? I want to fix this as soon as possible.
Waiting for reply.

does your server has enough memory ?
is there any failcounts for the resource parameter in /proc/user_beancounters ?
I am well aware of this kind of error message in vps node is mostly happening because of the resource shortage.
Thanks

just restart the service which should resolve the issue temporarily
if possible paste the result of "cat /proc/user_beancounters"
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I didn't see any failcounts. I restarted service, but it is still showing same error. I can't paste output of cat /proc/user_beancounters".

then,, some lock file might be causing the issue.
find out the lock file that is related to the service and remove it before restarting the service.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I already removed lock file in /var/lock/subsys and restarted service. But, still same error.
Thanks,
Yogesh.

cd /var/run
# dir
Look for sysmond and remove it
/etc/init.d/sysmond start

Thanks,
