Some advice for a beginner....

Ok guys, I've been giving some thought to doing reselling for the past few weeks. I've scoured the internet in hopes of finding something that may appeal to my needs. The closest I have found is over at Lypha (http://www.lypha.com/large_reseller.shtml), I assume they just let you in short, resell their accounts at discounted costs. Instead of buying say....1gb and having to spread your current customers' domains in 1gb of space. This is the type of reseller program I'm looking for. Of course I would prefer, SQL (unlimited databases), PHP, CGI, unlimited e-mail addies, unlimited subdomains. In short something like Lypha. I would prefer to that the smallest hosting plan that I would provide be 1gb at $12/mo and still be profitable. From browsing these very resourcful forums I've come to find Lypha isn't so great with their support or response times. I have experienced this first hand when I e-mailed them with a simple question a few weeks ago. Needless to say I didn't get a reply for 2 weeks, so that turned me off. Could anyone suggest a reseller that allows you to directly resell their plans at discounted rates, instead of buying in bulk or buying a set amount of space/bandwith that you must spread your user's accounts among. Thank you in advance for you time and guidance.

Thanks for the link, but they are all the same as most reseller programs, which just let you purchase a set amount of space, etc.

thats how most reseller programs work. you are looking for something more like an affiliate program.

It does "seem" like that. But referal programs aren't realy what I'm looking for. Over at Lypha they have standard costs for their webhosting plans, just for example: 1gb space, 20gb banwidth/mo, etc, etc 8.95/mo ...but their resellers just resell LYPHA's hosting plans at whatever rate they want. The reseller gets the plan for 4.95/mo and can resell at whatever price they want. That is the sort of "reseller" program I'm looking for.

I believe httpme.com does what you are looking for. Here is a thread in their forums talking about it. http://www.httpme.com/showthread.php?threadid=1669 Hope that helps.

No Fluxcore...you're referring to a reseller reselling reseller plans there. magnav0x is looking for a system whereby he buys single hosting plans, at a reduced rate, and resells them. Something closer to an affiliate program than what the industry leans towards when referring to a "reseller". A Plesk/Cpanel/etc "reseller" account is just a bulk buy...that doesn't necessarily get resold. Gary

magnav0x, checkout http://www.futurequest.net/Services/Resellers/ Those people are absolutely first class.

Definitely first class, but probably not what magnav0x is looking for either. One needs to maintain their own US$300/yr hosting plan before being allowed to resell other plans. G

175 MB Unrestricted Disk Space 10 GB Unrestricted Bandwidth 35 Full POP Email Accounts Reseller Discounts 3 FTP Accounts New! 6 MySQL Databases $24.95/mo if pre-pay 12 months $29.95/mo if pay monthly People would actualy pay that much money for such an account?! I wouldn't think twice about paying more than $15/mo for at least 1gb storage, unlimited sql databases, unlimited subdomains, unlimited pop3 accounts/e-mail accounts, etc. As mentioned above my smallest hosting plan would be 1gb storage space. Futurequest's best plan: Platinum 450 MB Unrestricted Disk Space 20 GB Unrestricted Bandwidth 75 Full POP Email Accounts Reseller Discounts 5 FTP Accounts 6 MySQL Databases $54.95/mo if pre-pay 12 months $59.95/mo if pay monthly doesn't even touch close to it and that monthly payment is more than I pay for all 3 of my domain's hosting added together I've e-mailed Lypha again tonight once more to see how long they take to respond. If they will actualy answer me in a respectable time frame I'm just going to jump in with them, but I don't think it's gonna happen. Arg!

I prefer the bulk hosting plans myself, so I don't have personal experience with http://www.hostingmatters.com/ , but I think they have good feedback here and offer the type of plan you are looking for.
