Disk full/child transfer failed
Posted by moetec, 05-15-2010, 07:28 AM |
I think i am about to move away from my web host, for the past 2 days i have been getting these errors, 552 disk full and Child transfer failed, for no apparent reason?
I am using cuteftp, i have tried filezilla, and windows own integrated ftp explorer, and still same ****.
I have 50 gig space, and have only used just over 1 gig.. so definately that is not the problem.
I rang hosting support hotline and they cant see a problem with my account,
The files i am uploading are the every day usual files i would upload, php files to run my forum, now my forum is down i cant get these important files up.
The host said to send in email a ticket but wtf is that going to do if they cant even figure it out.
Anyone know here what is going on so i can teach these noobs at the other end how to fix my account, otherwise i am going to move to a new host ??

Either you have hit your quota, your quota is incorrect and needs rebuilding, or the server itself is full.
Your provider needs to sort it out.

yeah, the same lady always answers the phone, and shes useless, cant find a problem. no 1 else answers as its only weekend now and after hours she says to call early sunday or monday or submit a ticket..
she said to make sure more chmod permissions are set right in the public html and sub folders, why would they change anyway, anyhows they are all fine...
then she said to clear my cache and try again, then she said my ftp client is bugged out try a different one, LOL
i have been running sites for 6 years now i am not that dumb i will know when my clients bugged, the problem is their end..yet they cannot find

Are your attachments stored in a DB? If so then it's maybe your quota they've changed.

yes they are stored in a DB
quota can't be changed, they verified everything, 50gig space, and has been same from day one. only thing has changed is this stupid child transfer fails lol.

Sounds like the hard disk on that vps / server is full and not your account. Ask them to check their own server...Overselling ? Just mentioned my stand on another post a while ago. Hopefully Im wrong though I have my douvts (and confirmation shrug)....sounds like overselling to me by the host/provider.
