Anyone else get ripped off by Hostmeg.com??

Posted by lorddamit, 09-05-2004, 10:00 AM
It's been a little while now, but I once had a resellers package with Hostmeg.com. After about a couple months of OK/unprofessional service, their server went down with my websites and theirs. Since that happened he told me that there is no refunds because it was a hack or some bull like that. And now he's gone, no service, can't even contact him... Hostmeg.com doesn't exist anymore... Just disappeared with my money and my service. GONE. If anyone had a similar experience, let me know. If you know how to get a hold of the guy from hostmeg, let me know. What a rip off.

Most likely you will have to write this expeience off as a lesson learned. Unfortunately, there a lot of small hosting companies and resellers out there, who have not been around long enough to establish a stable business. Therefore you will see a larger potential for this type of situation. That is why it is always good to research the company and see how large they are and how long they have been in business. This type of information can help you determine a safe reliable host. Better luck in the future.

I can agree with this statement to an extent. Where do all hosting companies come from? They just don't come out of existance for 3 years. Everyone must start somewhere. I just beleive the ease of reseller hosting is to blame for this.

Nope I believe over zealous client expectations and an unrealistic business model are to blame for this. Also factor in the uneducated consumer and complacency by the provider.

Back to the topic at hand. Has anyone heard from Hostmeg.com since? I don't appreciate getting ripped off. It's nobodies fault but Hostmeg.
